No’madd’s village is besieged by the V-or’s advance shock troops. With their hero gone, can anything counter the invaders brutal rampage or forestall the village’s total destruction? Will anything or anyone remain?
“Days later I reach my destination. The Steep. Long ago, mighty Ka’ii warlords lived here. Until the Age of Blood. When wars raged to win Tyon’s love. Thousands perished. In the end — still Tyon was unmoved. The warlords died. Unloved and filled with despair. The Steep is haunted. But the legend led me here.”
“Hold, No’madd! Down below lies the beast that killed your father! But consider: Life is full of despair. Can despair be a gift? One with many layers that may take years to unfold? Now go. Face your father’s killer. But think — what action would a true champion take?”
“I know this is hard. But I must follow Tyon’s call. Whispers foretold this day would come. I vow…to find these intruders. Whoever they are. Defeat them. And return home. ”

My people say only a show of might will earn love love and gain: The Gleam of Distance. For whoever wields the gleam — Tyon’s divine amulet – will rise … Continue reading
I used to think a hero was only as good as their villain. I’ve since learned this is not true, but I do think the most important character in any story is the villain. My favorite villains are capable of doing evil things but also have sympathetic origins. For the No’madd universe, I started to develop a sorceress who had … Continue reading
